Irene is the mom of two remarkable little girls, Suzy and Maggie, and wife to Jonathan. Irene and Jonathan first discovered The Anat Baniel Method®/ NeuroMovement® in 2016, when their daughter, Maggie, was 18 months old.

At just two months old, doctors discovered that Maggie had a rare brain malformation called Polymicrogyria. Although Maggie didn't show any signs of developmental delay when diagnosed, within a few months Maggie started to fall behind on all of her developmental milestones. At 6 months old, Maggie started traditional therapy in hopes that it would help her to progress.  After a year, Maggie wasn't making as much progress as hoped, and Irene and Jonathan wanted to do more for their daughter. They started looking into non-traditional treatments and therapies that might help. After hearing about ABM/ NeuroMovement® from another therapist and later reading Anat's book 'Kids Beyond Limits', they decided that they would try NeuroMovement®. At the time, there weren't any NeuroMovement® practitioners in the Charlotte, NC area, so they packed up their car and the family headed to Asheville, NC for a week to see the nearest practitioner. With open minds, hearts and a shared sense of curiosity they began their ABM/NeuroMovement® journey.

Within a week after Maggie's first intensive, consisting of 2 lessons per day for 5 consecutive days, Irene and Jonathan saw a striking improvement in many different areas of Maggie's life. Her sleep improved dramatically, her movement and coordination increased, she started doing things that she'd never done before, her vision was noticeably different and she had an increased sense of peace and happiness. After seeing these positive changes, Irene and Jonathan decided that NeruoMovement® would be Maggie's new path forward to help her reach her full potential.

For the next 2 years, Maggie received monthly ABM/NeuroMovement® intensives which improved the quality of Maggie's life so much that Irene was inspired to learn more about this remarkable method.  With support from her family, Irene decided that she would sign up for The Anat Baniel Method® NeuroMovement® practitioner training program. This was an exciting opportunity not only to be able to provide ABM/NeuroMovement® to Maggie but also to be the first NeuroMovement® practitioner in the greater Charlotte, NC area. The training program has transformed Irene's life in many positive ways and she is excited to now have a career as a practitioner. She looks forward to helping children and adults live better and more vibrant lives.

Wanting to expand her knowledge of movement and how to help her clients even more, Irene continued her training with Michelle Turner of Movement Lesson. Michelle offers a vast library of at-home tutorials for parents and caregivers. Irene can now help parents create an at-home program for families to help their loved ones continue their learning and development.
